Multilingual Classrooms: Helping Students Learn Across Languages

A student can understand a scientific idea yet struggle to explain it in the language used at school. Another may speak confidently but find unfamiliar academic vocabulary difficult. Treating both situations as a lack of ability risks missing what the learner actually knows.
