Vocational Education Around the World: How to Judge a Training Pathway
Vocational education is sometimes treated as a second choice after an academic route. That simple ranking hides the real question: does a programme provide worthwhile learning, recognised qualifications and a suitable pathway for this learner? Vocational systems differ substantially across countries. The OECD's overview of vocational education and training highlights links with employers, workplace learning and opportunities for adults as well as young people.
